Healthy night of PLO

Pretty absurd night last night. Got to the casino a bit later than I expected-around 7:30. Immediately got seated at the must move 2/5 table while I waited for the 5/10 seat or 1/2/5 PLO. First hand I play I more than double up thanks to some pretty bad play.

Bottom Two-Shiiiip

We are playing 6 handed and there is a ton of limping and limp calling going on. This hand I am in c/o...a really bad limping fish limps and I make it $20 with 67. BTN calls and limper calls.

(POT ~65) Flop 67J Limper checks I go 45, BTN calls and limper reluctantly calls. I range the BTN on a J KJ, QJ, JT, etc. and limper has a lot of gutshots, fl draws along with 1 pair hands.

(POT ~200) Turn 2 Limper ch, I go 200 as I feel their calling ranges are super inelastic here...TP is never folding and fish is never folding a draw IMO. BTN shoves for 50 more and limper calls all in for about the same. I call obv

(POT ~950) River 4 BTN tables QQ like a hero and limper mutters and mucks.

Anyway I continue to LAG it up and then they finally call the 1/2/5 PLO and the game is an absolute chitshow.

First hand dealt I call an EP 10 raise with 4678 and 5 take flop.

Flop 56T Raiser leads I pot and get get it in vs. AATx...lol

AATx31.96% 186,5511,152
4h8h6s7s68.04% 397,7771,152

Turn 4 and I scoop.

Then I started playing super LAG. I am probably playing like 35/30 in a FR PLO game if not more aggro.

One of the things I think I have gotten a lot better about over the last year is understanding my image and adjusting to other players who play against that image poorly. One particular woman had no clue and kept trying to "trap" me in a hand. Of course, that doesn't really work in PLO. here is a hand where she got cute pre and I end up scooping a pretty big hand.

Top 2; gutter and J hi flush draw is plenty for me!

So I am raising a ton and elect to raise J987 OTB to 25 over 2 limps. She then more or less min-rasies it back to 55 from BB. 1 limper calls (pretty good young player) and I call.

Her range is pretty much only big pairs AA or KK. She is not raising any rundowns or similar ds broadway type hands.

(Pot ~170) Flop J92 She leads 120; dude raises to 400; I stuff for 600 effective; she calls off her last 350ish; he calls off

Turn and river are bricks and I scoop against:

ProPokerTools Omaha Hi Simulation

Jc9h8c7d50.01% 110,786270
AAKc5c18.22% 39,7951,204
AcTcTX31.77% 69,7231,474

So while it was pretty standard for me and the other dude, her preflop sizing is terrible and her call off is really, really bad. Having said that I doubt I am ever folding in this hand so maybe her PF play doesn't really matter in this specific hand.

But then my LAG image gets me another stack off. This time in another really bad post flop play by villain trying to "punish" my aggressiveness.

Do I ever Miss

I raise AT96 to 25 over 2 limpers and go 4 ways to flop 1 of which is a clueless Asian.

(Pot ~100) Flop 663 Checks to me and I go 80..folds to Asian on my right who then raises to 225 with 250 behind. Given my image I just stuff it so I can just never level myself into a fold...lol. He then gets mad and considers folding...wtf. Finally shows KKxx and says let's gamble while calling off. yes please lets! Never showed his side cards but claimed he had a gutshot too so I guess KK75??

Runsout 9, 4 and I scoop a ~1100 pot with only 100 in pre-flop...lol.

All added up to a +3k night where I really never had my stack threatened in a big pot.   Really think image at the table is such a huge part of the live game that a lot of player's don't get.

Was a good night and will probably be back on TH night.

Awesome. I gotta get up to Perryville. WTF?!??!?!??! Reading these hands has me salivating - particularly the NLHE hand... I was involved with something like that last night against a nit who limped JJ and I raised to $20 in the BB. He called with $110 behind and called the $120 flop shove (good read by me) on a 4d3d4c flop (awesome flop).

Brian - can you shoot me an email with your email address? I have a few online Omaha questions / HH's that I'd like your thoughts. I've been learning the game, but it's been a slow process.
