Pretty Good Start to 2011

So January was not bad; not great, but not bad either. Whiffing in 4 events at the Borgata Winter Open certainly dragged down my results. But on the flip side the cash games at Borgata were really good and kept the trip from being a disaster. Anyway here are my results:

On-line cash +180
On-line tournaments +1,396
Stars FPP value (11,137 VPP x 3.5factor x 1.5 cents per) +$584.69
Stars Stellar Rewards +150
Full Tilt rakeback +$39.69
Live cash +$1,775
Live tournament -$805

Total $3,320.38

The flow of January was pretty odd for me. I ended up playing very little cash on-line after my discovery of the ease of multi table SNG that I wrote about previously. Thus, much lower winnings in that column and fewer FPP since cash is where they are accumulated the fastest. Then I was at Borgata for 4 nights and played very little on-line. Finally, we lost power at the house last week after the snow storm so I wasn't able to play as much as I wanted of the Double Guarantees Week on FTP.

My "goal" was to make $3,500/month playing part time and at least for the first month I achieved a bit less than 95% of that goal. Obviously poker is fickle and I don't expect the wins to be linear or consistent each month. Hopefully some months will be significantly above my goal total to offset the inevitable months where I crap the bed.

February will be interesting. This is the first month where my "real" work life will begin to interfere with my ability to play a lot. It is also the month containing the first FTOPS of 2011 and I intend to play a number of those events. Obviously the last FTOPS was a good one for me but past FTOPS have been pretty shitty. I will look at the series soon to determine the events I plan to play. My results in FTOPS will go a long way to determining how good or bad February results will be.

LMAO, well put

Stupid real work!! I raise an angry fist at it, then again honest work is good for the soul (think I read that somewhere).

GL x aBunch, & good job getting the LL bet thread on 2+2 started early. Unfortunately it seems, poker players don't know what they're doing until minutes before it happens, but well intentioned (and at least appreciated by me).

Work is highly overrated. But with a wife, 2 kids in private school, a place at the beach and 2 expensive hobbies (golf/poker) I gots to do what I gots to do.

Tx U2..I had hoped by getting the LL going early we could have 15-20 people and a nice little side action. Maybe it will still materialize over the weekend.
