Back to the grind

Had some surgery last week so I haven't played in about 2weeks. Nothing major but I was under so the anesthesia def kicked my ass. Finally, last night I said F-it and went to Perryville for some pokerz. Couple of interesting hands.

No 5/10 or PLO so all hands are 2/5.

I was up a good bit after getting 3 streets of value with AQ on Q5696 board vs. KQ. He shoved river and I actually considered folding but fortunately took my time and realized I was getting like 4.5-1 on a call so I couldn't fold TPTK. That got me up to ~1k when I played one of the dumbest hands I have played in a while.

Put you on AK bro

So I had abt 1k..dude on my right with 2.5k raised every single BTN when I was in sb. I actually gave him some credit earlier when I folded a marginal hand thinking I would have to call 2 more streets with a hand that was hard to improve. Then he starts showing down his hands and I realize he is just clicking buttons.

So 3 limps and on cue, BTN makes it 35. I peel JT and figure this is a good 3b hand, easy to play post flop, etc. I raise to 110...UTG is a fish and he now limp calls...lol. Folds to BTN who starts tanking and flats. I read him as not super strong here.

(Pot ~340) Flop T98 OH hi!! Not bad at all. I lead $225...fish insta mucks and BTN starts looking at my stack. Tanks for like 2 mins and announces ALL IN. This makes very little sense to me and I just sense weakness. There is a bit over $1400 in the pot and costs me $665 to call so I guess I need about 33% or so to call. Even against this super strong range I am in pretty good shape:

Hand Pot equity Wins Ties
JdTd38.77% 20,3383,078
77-AA, Acc, KcQc, JQ61.23% 33,0143,078

So I call after about a min of thought. Turn K River 5 He tables 55 . Then gives me the classic..."I put you on AK bro!" So that was disgusting.

Reloaded and within the orbit I get AK in against him again preflop and lose the flip to QQ.

Now we are stuck 1k and yet I feel I am playing really well. I make a couple of marginal river calls to lose a few hundred more and am suddenly stuck like $1,500 Had one more bullet so this is it. Pretty early on I get it in and finally win a good one.

Limped Pot stack offs FTW

I check my option in BB with Q8. 6 to flop. I have about $650 at this point. Flop comes KJT. Double gutter and 2nd nut flush draw seems good. I decide to check, likely c/r based on what happens. Fish bets $25 and gets 2 callers to me. I decide to try and take down this pot and fold out some equity by c/r to $125. Original better calls and others fold. He never has AQ here obv.; think he could have weaker flush draws, etc.

Pot (~$330) Turn is 9)..I want to get as much of his drawing, 2 pair, etc. money in now as I can. So I decide to put him in for ~$400 and he snaps with 9T and I hold in a ~$1100 pot.

From there it was smooth sailing and I ended up about a $500 winner over the 5.5 hours of play! That puts my Perryville play up to nearly 90 hours with a win rate of a bit over $93.30/hour since April. This is spread between approx 10 hours 1/2/5 PLO, 55 hours 2/5, 20 hours 5/10 and a few hours of 1/2 NLHE.

MD Live opens in 2 weeks so I expect to be able to play a lot more PLO this fall and always have access to 5/10.
